Strike Out Stroke

 

Stroke is preventable. Strike Out Stroke is an educational seminar presented by medical professionals on risk factors and prevention. Participants learn to protect themselves and their loved ones from the trauma of stroke. Ultra-sound and blood pressure screenings are included.

 

Stroke Recovery Program

 

A major challenge in recovery occurs when the survivor returns home after hospitalization and rehabilitation. The Stroke Recovery Program includes education, social support, and physical therapy to help survivors and families learn the many skills and adaptations needed to live well after stroke. Registration and physician consent are required.

 

SpeakerŐs Bureau

Staff, advocates and health professionals travel to businesses, schools, community organizations, and health fairs to educate the public on stroke prevention and recovery.

Caregiver Workshops

Workshops helps families cope with the stress of caregiving, including resources, respite, and balance between care for another and self-care.

Newsletter

The Stroke AssociationŐs newsletter, ŇThe Road Ahead,Ó provides useful information on stroke prevention, recovery, resources, and community activities and events, and is available by mail and online.

Community Resource Guide

A Community Resource Guide helps survivors and families navigate the road to recovery and live well after stroke. The guide lists resources throughout the Southland and is available in English and Spanish.
